William D. Butler, Jr.

1961 - 2024

William D. Butler, Jr., a beloved New Orleans native, passed away on December 12, 2024, in Boston at the age of 63. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1961, William was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and community.

Throughout his life, William was passionate about cars and pursued his education at Fortier Senior High School, Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO), and Delgado Community College. His love for automobiles was a defining part of his personality and brought him great joy.

William was preceded in death by his father, William D. Butler, Sr. He is survived by his loving family, including his mother Betty Washington, and siblings Kim Butler, Phyllis Douglas (Rodney, Sr.), Gerald Butler (Benji), Andera Washington, and Shirlena Thomas. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and relatives who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service to celebrate William's life will be held on December 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at New Mt. Era Baptist Church, located at 2519 S. Prieur St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70125.

William will be remembered for his passion, his love for family, and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace.
