Waymon Brian “Midget” Davis Sr., earthly light became eternally dim on September 4, 2022, at the age of 57. Waymon was born on September 7, 1964 to Waymon Joseph Stewart and Gertrude G. Davis. Waymon was educated in Orleans Parish Public Schools and graduated from O. Perry Walker College and Career Preparatory High School. He attended McNeese State University before embarking on his 20-year career in the communications and energy industries. Early in his career, Waymon moved to Baltimore, MD where he was “adopted” by the Brumfield family whom he affectionately called his “Baltimore family”. In 2002, Waymon married Dr. Takeisha C. Davis, whom he met in Baltimore, and to this union was born his beloved son, Waymon Brian Davis Jr. Waymon was an impressionable presence in the lives of all who knew him, always shining light and love along his journey. Waymon was preceded in death by his father Waymon Joseph Stewart, mother Gertrude G. Davis, stepfather Jack Davis Jr., and “Baltimore brother” William Brumfield. He leaves to carry on his torch, one daughter, Ariele Johnson; one son, Waymon Brian Davis Jr.; one sister, Gail Davis Reynolds (Edmond); two brothers, Donald Davis Sr. and Cornell Davis Sr. (Monica); one Uncle Robert Butler (Betty); one Aunt Dorothy Smith; his “Baltimore mom” Joyce Brumfield, “Baltimore sister” Jamie Brumfield and “Baltimore brother” Steven Brumfield; and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many life-long friends.
