Tommie Lee Adkins , age 88, born in Crawfordsville, Georgia on January 8, 1935, and entered eternal rest on December 21, 2023. He is a 1953 graduate of Walter L. Cohen Sr. High School and Dillard University where he received a technical degree in air condition and refrigeration. From 1956 to 1960, he served his country in the United States Army where he received an honorable discharge. He retired as a maintenance technician and began a thriving lawn care service. He met and married the former Emanuella Bell on July 14, 1997. He was an avid sports fan! His favorite teams were Atlanta Braves, LSU and of course he was a part of the ‘Who Dat Nation,’ New Orleans Saints. He was also a member of a bowling league that won many trophies and awards. Tommie is preceded in death by his parents Walker and Erma (Johnson) Adkins and 9 siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Emanuella (Bell) Adkins of New Orleans, LA. Sons Charles Mitchell of Atlanta GA, Arthur Adkins (Tracy) of Round Rock TX; daughters Angela Jones (Chris) of Temecula CA, Annette Fisher (Karl) of New Orleans LA, and Jovall A. Hawkins of Houston TX; Stepchildren, Dedie Bell-McCall (Thaddeus McCall) of Fort Worth, TX, Darryl Joseph of Menifee, CA, Eric Joseph (Roshone) of Houston, TX, Ramon Smith of New Orleans, LA and Tiffany Bell of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by two siblings, Betty Jean Burnett of Crawfordsville, GA and George Burnett of Atlanta, GA. Nine grandchildren (Lakita, Michelle, Latrice, Erica, Rondreka, Raven, Michael, Jamal, & Randy), 8 great grandchildren and a host of many nephews, nieces and other family and friends.
