Miriam Payne

Miriam Payne,   – 90, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Born in New Orleans, LA to Harry Poree and Olivia Boutte Smoot, Miriam was employed as a caregiver for many years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Clarence Smoot; grandchildren, Donna Lynn Ellis, Rhonda Wilson, Bobby James Jr., Rudy James, Bernell Gayden Jr., Rashad James, LaShonda James-Venible, Duane Gayden and Nadja James. She is preceded in death by her parents, Olivia Boutte Smoot and Harry Poree; brother, Henry Jones; sisters, Fannie Grant, Matilda Landry and Carroll Richburg; husband, Thomas Payne; daughters, Lydia Ellis, Pamela James and Diane Gayden.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 8321 Burthe St., New Orleans, LA. Father Etido Jerome officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA.
