Mary “Lou” McgowanBattle

Mary “Lou” McGowan-Battle   – age 90, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 3, 2018. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Collinetha S. Hurst (Larry); companion, Alex Davis; grandchildren, Erica and Larriyan Hurst; great-grandchildren, A’Kayla and Akeem Harrison Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her children, the late Herbert McGowan Sr. and Darrell Smith; grandchild, Herbert McGowan Jr.; and great-grandchild, Willow Messiah.

Family, friends of the family, and the faculty and staff of Woldenberg Village and Compassus Hospice Care are invited to attend her Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00AM at Reaping the Harvest Church, 5123 Dauphine St., New Orleans, LA. Minister Larry Hurst officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service. Interment will be private.
