Lizzie May (Mae) Lawson was born on August 20, 1943 to Thomas Henry of Lake Louisiana, and Janie Lawson of Harrison, Louisiana. Lizzie May (Mae) Lawson-Austin entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 80 preceding in death with her husband of over 50 years John Charles Austin. Her mother and father, her sister (Nercille Porter), baby brother (Samuel Freeman), her only birth son Simpson Green (Harold Mae Green), 2 daughters Loretta Green Powell (Donald Ray Powell Sr.) and Carla Noel, 1 God son, 1 son-in-law and 9 Grandchildren. She was declared deceased early morning at Ochsner Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the New St. Mark M.B.C. for more than 50 years serving as the Head Deaconess. She was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a long-life resident of New Orleans, LA. Lizzie was a private business owner working as a House Hold Technician in the surrounding New Orleans area. Lizzie retired from domestic work in her late 50’s and spent her last years with her husband until 2020 (due to COVID) and family until her death. She leaves behind to morne her big brother Thomas Henry Jr., 2 sisters Brenda Mcduffie, Lillie Mae Stokes, and one long-life sister-in-law Alma Henry, 14 children: Jacquelyn Pier Ennis (Alvin Ennis), Brenda Bell (Calvin Bell Sr.), Justina Williams (Lion Williams), Patrice Garrison (Leo Garrison), Catrell Noel Perrier, Joan Lynn Austin, Crystal Augustus (Ramon Augustus), Evangelist Dawn Garrett (Lawrence Garrett), Donna Walton (Bruce Walton), Dionne Lowery (Johnny Lowery), Ashley Austin, Paul Austin, Nathan Austin (Tia Austin), Willie Austin, Wanda Austin and Kevin Austin, 103 grandchildren 110 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews family and friends.
