Joyce Thompson

Joyce Marie Thompson was born to the union of the late Sherman Howard Sr and Alicia Freeman Howard on December 23, 1946. She departed this earthly life and received her wings on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Joyce leaves to cherish her memories: 4 daughters, Lynette Howard Prosper (Hilton), Tina Thompson, Maya Thompson Ladmirault (Sean), and Patrice Thompson; sisters Stephanie Westrey (Arthur) and Cheryl Howard; brother Terry Howard (Katherine); 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchlidren, as well as a host of relatives and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Vickie Thompson, 1 son Joseph Thompson, 1 sister Earline Freeman, and 3 brothers Sherman Jr., Michael and James Howard. She will be missed by all whom knew her and those who lives she touched. Relatives, friends, Pastors and members from Tulane Memorial Baptist Church, and LTWI, staff from Touro Infirmary, Charity/University Hospitals, and USPS-Downtown, are all invited to attend the homegoing service at Tulane Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Ross M. Johnson Jr. officiating, 3601 Paris Ave. New Orleans, LA 70122 on Saturday December 14, 2024 @ 10:00am. Visitation begins at 9:00am. Interment: Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Directors.
