Herman Leopoldo Rankins “BIG HERM” , born June 25, 1982, to Denise Givens and Herman Rankins in Houston, Texas. On Wednesday, June 14,2023, in Houston Texas Herman was called home to be with the Lord. Herman was educated at St Elizabeth Catholic School, DeSoto High School, Honors Academy, and Texas Southern University and found his passion in Oil & Gas Drilling and Fluid Engineering and was educated at ACE Mud School. Herman leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Denise Givens and father Herman Rankins. Stepfather Bruce Collins and Stepmother Denise Rankins. Brother Kalan (Jennifer) Elia, niece Raelyn and nephew Chase Herman Elia. Maternal grandmother Margaret Green Givens, Aunts Deborah (Vernon) Riley, Deidra Hankton, Cynthia (Bolton) Tobias, Denise, Darlene and Critty Ann Rankins. Uncles Steven, Shedrick, Matthew, August (DellaResse), Sidney (Ernell), Jerome (Misti), Jeffrey (Chasitee) Givens, Robert Hall, Darrell Dorsey Johnny, Ronald (Kathleen), Donald Rankins and God parents Terrilyn Lassair and Dwayne Hawkins. Herman is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles and other Family and friends. Herman is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Shedrick A. Givens II, uncle Altimus J Givens and aunt Angela Givens Hall, and paternal grandparents Herbert and Helen Rankins.

• Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial that will be held at St Rita Catholic Church, 2729 Lowerline St., New Orleans, LA, on June 29,2023 at 10:00am.

• Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the hour of service.

• Immediately following the conclusion of the Mass, Herman will be interred at St. Vincent DePaul #2 Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum at 1950 Soniat Street, New Orleans, La 70117.

• Repast will follow at 2 p.m. National Association of Letter Carriers 4200 Elysian Fields Ave., New Orleans, La 70122.
