Gilbert Matthew Luke, Sr. entered eternal rest on Monday, July 19, 2021 in Dallas, TX. He was 80 years old. Beloved son of the late Joseph and Lillie Luke. Loving husband of the late Joan Davis Luke. Devoted father of Gilbert M. Luke Jr., Shelita Luke, Trisa Harwell (Brett), Keya Luke, and Keila Luke. Beloved grandfather of Rickey T. Chaney Jr., Shadana Chaney, Phillip Lewis, Anya Rainwater, Tiera Lewis, Anthony Lewis, Stefan Harwell, Aaron Harwell (Jayda), Isaiah Harwell, Joshua Harwell, Zion Davis Walton and 12 great grandchildren. Brother of Catherine L. Phipps, Gerald Luke, Sr. (Brenda) of Los Angeles, CA, Steven Luke, Sr. (Bernadine), Jerome Luke (Juanita) of Hoover, AL. He was preceded in death by his son Troy Luke and his brothers Albert Luke, Sr., Kenneth Luke and his sisters Lynn Luke Lastrapes, Cheryl Luke Gibbs, Kaaren Luke Williams. He is survived by a host of relatives and friends.
