Deacon James B. Stevenson Jr.,

Deacon James B. Stevenson Jr.,   – age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018. Deacon Stevenson enjoyed a 38 year long career at Coca-Cola Bottling Co., and following his retirement, began working for NOLA Transportation. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Eliza J. Stevenson; loving and devoted wife, Yeolonda J. Stevenson; children, Jason Stevenson of Atlanta, GA, and Jyreius Williams and Asiah Stevenson of Luling, LA; step-children, Whitman (Rochelle) Wilcox IV of New Orleans, LA, Ashley Wilcox-Williams (Jeffrey) of Atlanta, GA, and Kyle Wilcox of Dallas, TX; siblings, Ronald (Blanche), Christopher, Gloria, Antoinette and Antonio (Deborah) Stevenson; grandchildren, Zaria Tripplet and Jyreius Jr.; god-children, Daniel Franklin and Jayden Phillips; and a host of other relatives and friends. James is preceded in death by his father, James B. Stevenson Sr.; and brothers, Donald, Michael and Patrick Stevenson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00AM at First Zion Baptist Church, 7201 Olive Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be held from 8:00AM until the hour of service.

Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Repass to follow at Christian Unity Baptist Church, 1700 Conti Street, New Orleans, LA.
