Cherry Minor

Cherry Lee Minor was born on August 31, 1954 and departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie, LA. She was a native of New Orleans and a 1971 graduate of Joseph S Clark. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid Society and Sisters in Christ. She is survived by her children Donny (Virginia), Robert (Janitra), Cierra, Charina, Cheray (Carl) Minor. Siblings Charles Lewis, Joyce Thomas, Terry Gerdes, Ronald Gerdes, and Toye Hughes. She is preceded by her husband Robert Minor, Sr., mother and father Melvin and Louise Gerdes, brother Melvin Lewis, sister Louise Lewis, daughter Cherry Minor, and best friend Patsy Cordier. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services are on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church located at 1625 Annette Street, New Orleans, LA 70116. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a 11:00 am Celebration of Life Service. Repass at St. Paul’s Lutheran fellowship hall.
