Charles Knight, Sr., born in New Orleans, Louisiana, transitioned in Gulfport, MS at the age of 77 on Saturday, on August 24, 2024, after a courageous battle with his declining health. He was the son of Olivia Knight and Southern Harris and youngest sibling of Barbara Williams and Leroy Knight. He was educated in the N. O. Public School System and served honorably 21 years in the U.S. Army. He served over 10 years at U.S. Customs and Border Protection as a Seized Property Specialist. Charles leaves behind his surviving sibling, Barbara Williams, his high school sweetheart, ex-wife Lorene Anderson Knight, and devoted uncle Charles Jackson and a host of family members and loved ones. Continuing to carry his legacy are two daughters: Capricia Knight Bellard (Dwayne) Colette Knight-Taylor (Torrence), two sons: Charles Knight, Jr. (Rhonda) and Clifton Leroy Knight (Newanna) and five precious grandchildren: Mia, Keshawn, Christopher, Kadar and Laila. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Southern Harris, mother, Olivia Knight, his brother Leroy Knight, his grandparents, a nephew Kerry Williams, Jr., a grandson Isaiah and a few of aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. James Methodist Church, 1925 Ursuline St., New Orleans, LA 70116. Visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Repast: 1:00 pm at Radiant Event Hall and Patios, 5800 Bullard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70128
