Arthur Harrell

Arthur Harrell,- peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at North Oaks Medical Center at 1:08 am at the age of 91. The fifth of eleven children, he was born on October 2, 1928 to the late Palmer Harrell and Manilla McCoy Harrell of Amite, LA. Arthur leaves to cherish his strong legacy, four devoted sons, Arthur (Brenda) Hickerson, New Orleans, LA., Gregory Harrell, Dallas, TX., Elder Michael (Denesia) Harrell, Amite, LA., and Dennis (Alessia) Harrell, Kokomo, IN.; one daughter, Cheryl (Frankie) Hampton of Spring, TX.; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild whom he dearly loved; two sisters, Audrey Dunomes and Bobbie Lois Harrell of Chicago, IL.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Arthur is predeceased in death by his beloved bride of fifty-one years, Ruth Mary Avant, parents, grandparents, Alexander and Emma Mead Harrell, three brothers, Elbert, Ellis, and Joe Harrell, five sisters, Doris Wheat, Vera Mosby, Thedora Lewis, Helen Brook, and Yvonne Harrell. Arthur Harrell will be greatly missed for his kind, gentle, fun-filled spirit by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00AM at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church, 217 West Oak St., Amite, LA. 70422.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the hour of service.

Interment will be at Amite Memorial Gardens.
