Anthony Wayne Mcgee, Jr

Anthony Wayne McGee, Jr, age 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, August 15, 2022.  He was born June 26, 1965 and was a son of Anthony W. McGee, Sr. and the late Icee “Lucille” J. McGee.  He was born and raised in Clinton, SC and moved to New Orleans at the age of eighteen where he attended cosmetology school. Wayne later opened and operated his own shop for nearly four decades. He was well loved and well known by many in his native state of South Carolina and as well as, the state he lived most of his life, New Orleans. Wayne was so funny and loved to make anyone smile. He had a passion for dancing, decorating, designing, fashion, and gardening. His love for animals led him to become a volunteer for PETA where he rescued his beloved dog, “Schugg” who was by his side when he went home. Wayne attended Little Farms United Church of Christ.  Surviving along with his father is his sister, Donna K. “Sissy Lynn” McGee.

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marguarite H. McGee and Slim, Melvin D. Johnson and Nettie.
